SageGlass, the world’s smartest electrochromic glass, will be installed at the new SCHEELS superstore in Johnstown, CO. The 250,000-square-foot destination sporting goods store and entertainment venue will feature a total of 24,500 square feet of dynamic SageGlass, a product of Saint-Gobain, in skylights throughout the store, as well as the grand entrance. SageGlass dynamic glass will control sunlight in the superstore in order to provide a comfortable experience for the customers that will enjoy the 95 specialty shops and family-friendly entertainment that will all be housed under one roof.
SageGlass was selected for this project due to its ability to dynamically control sunlight to optimize daylight, outdoor views and comfort while preventing glare, fading and overheating without the need for blinds or shades. With electronically tintable SageGlass, SCHEELS will be able to control the indoor environment and create a comfortable store for its customers.
JOHNSTOWN, CO — As if east Loveland already weren't a shopper's paradise, a developer announced Wednesday that 830,000 square feet of retail would be built at Interstate 25 and U.S. 34 in Johnstown, anchored by a giant Scheels sporting goods store. At the announcement event, the chairman of the board of the Fargo, N.D.-based retailer said his family's company would build a 250,000-square-foot "retail shopping adventure" that would be the second largest sporting goods store in the country — No. 2 after the 295,000-square-foot Scheels in Sparks, Nev. "We've been looking for this site for over 10 years," said Steve D. Scheel, company chairman. "We know this community will support it."
