1992
How It Started
RLE started as a construction company called R.L. Engebretson out of Ricky L. Engebretson’s basement in Fargo, ND. As a registered architect, licensed general contractor, and licensed real estate broker, Engebretson wanted to create a multifaceted company to provide clients with a single source of responsibility for all their building needs.
1994
New Location
The R.L. Engebretson office moved into 15 Broadway N Fargo, ND which was also one of the company’s first architecture and construction projects. The First National Bank Building, now known as the Bell Bank Building, was originally built in 1926. It has been completely remodeled, resulting in a building with both historical character and state-of-the-art building systems.
1999
BlueStone Interiors
BlueStone Interiors was created to provide specialized interior design services for R.L. Engebretson’s commercial clients. BlueStone’s team creates spaces that are personalized to each client, using knowledge of furnishing accessories, lighting fixtures, window treatments, and more.
2002
New Principals
Kim Manuel and Rich Wiemken became principals of R.L. Engebretson. Kim is a licensed interior designer and Rich is a licensed architect. Kim is currently the Director of Interior Design and Marketing and Rich is currently Director of Architecture.
2003
GET With Marketing
R.L. Engebretson’s business clients liked what the in-house marketing department was doing for the company and wanted those services for themselves. GET With launched to provide branding and marketing services to those clients, making R.L. Engebretson a full-service company.
2008
ASBLT
Over the years, R.L. Engebretson has been asked to be an expert witness in many trials involving building problems. This led to the launch of ASBLT, a building forensics and property condition assessment team that offers digital diagnostic discovery. It investigates and remedies problems for building clients.
2017
25th Anniversary
Since our founding in 1992, R.L. Engebretson has been dedicated to lasting client relationships, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction. In 2017, we celebrated our 25th Anniversary in business and are looking forward to providing quality results for many more years to come.

New Brand, Same Results
We want our clients to know us by one name, no matter the service they receive. That’s why The RLE Group of companies – R.L. Engebretson Architecture, BlueStone Interiors, GET With Marketing, and ASBLT Building Forensics – will now be known simply as RLE. We’re still the same people providing the same quality services, now united under one brand. And of course, we’re still delivering Results. Done Right.
