Fargo, ND Remodeling/Flood Reconstruction
25,000 seats Architecture & Interior Design

The FARGODOME and City of Fargo have called upon R.L. Engebretson’s design team time and time again because of their long-standing relationship and trust that RLE does the job efficiently and with the highest quality. Some major projects that RLE has performed at the FARGODOME include the following:

FARGODOME Flood Reconstruction after eight feet of floodwaters permeated all major building systems. Daily meetings were held to discuss progress, coordinate trades, and identify problems. In short, three weeks later the Dixie Chicks took the stage after an amazing effort by the selected contractors, the FARGODOME staff, and our firm.

The FARGODOME Suites project included demolition of existing stadia in eight sections of the arena, erection of precast concrete stairs, walls and planks, poured concrete ramps and platform, and installation of glazing and seats. Interior finishes, casework, and furniture package options were also completed for the suites.

The FARGODOME also called upon R.L. Engebretson to design a fall protection system that would allow one hundred percent tie-off on 23 175-foot joists spanning 117 feet above the arena floor. The fall protection system serves the north and center stage sections of the FARGODOME. The project also included one hundred percent tie-off fall protection above nine 16-foot-long joists at the theatre set area of the arena.

This remodeling project added a pair of escalators from FARGODOME’s existing main lobby to the lower level. A lower-level lobby was created with a new connection to the arena floor by a removable vomitory. Four additional meeting rooms were created and integrated with the spaces developed for NDSU’s football program.
