Newman Outdoor Field
Newman Outdoor Field has added a phenomenal element to the Fargo-Moorhead area activities schedule. We created this wonderfully intimate facility and with our knowledge of the facility have maintained a working relationship with the City of Fargo to assist in successfully completing three additional projects, in 2002, 2004, and 2006.
In 2002, our Architectural Team researched systems to address deteriorating stadia joints in the facility’s precast superstructure. A special joint system now serves to maintain the facility’s shell weather tight. In 2005, we were commissioned to design a shading structure for the upper deck plaza at the ticket windows. An open shading structure was designed and constructed and, as well, helps protect the ticket windows from inclement weather. Maintenance was addressed in 2006 to refinish all painted surfaces, such as handrails, guardrails, exposed steel superstructure, entry gates, etc. Deterioration to various interior surfaces in selected locations was also addressed. Significant research was done to identify multiple finish systems, using special systems with long-life wearability at appropriate locations of high use and wear.
In 2010, we were hired to create handicap-accessible dugouts to meet current codes.
