Scheels opened their newest store in Missoula, Montana on October 2, 2021. This store took over an existing JCPenney and additional tenant space within the Southgate Mall. The exterior features a new pitched roof entry with a giant Bigfoot to greet the customers! A majority of the exterior original brickwork remains with touches of new stone and a fresh coat of paint brings a clean look to the existing building. Bronze statues draw attention from visitors.

Inside the store, two existing skylights are replaced with energy-efficient kalwall and the original tongue and groove woodwork is restored. The existing exposed heavy timber beams along with the restored skylight woodwork create a grand and bright entry at the mall side. The store shops include features such as an indoor playground, archery range, rollerball, golf simulator, and a shooting gallery simulator. This family-friendly store is sure to be a fun visit!
