West Acres Mall, Mothers Restroom

Fargo, ND Remodeling 400 sf Interior Design

When West Acres hired our team to remodel a 400 sf area in their lower level, local artwork was a key element of the design concept. A lobby area was converted into two private mother’s rooms to accommodate nursing mothers and their children in a safe, clean, private area while shopping. The design brought the outdoors to the gloomy lower level with cubed lights resembling skylights and warm wood tones in a cantilevered cloud over the lounge chairs. The interiors team worked with the mall architect to create construction documents. Specifications for the leaf-shaped kids’ ottomans, glider chairs, and leaf-shaped lounge seating included durable, creative vinyl fabrics, and heavy coatings for industrial use. The team led the bidding and then value-engineered the scope and materials to meet the project budget. Weekly on-site meetings throughout construction administration were included in the scope of work.
