West Acres

The Corporate Office of West Acres Mall was outgrowing the warehouse space they were occupying. With the addition of new executive, security, marketing, and accounting staff, our interior designers were hired to space plan and maintain the upbeat culture while adding more staff in the same space. We utilized areas under stairs for workroom storage, arranged sit-to-stand desks in all workstations and offices, and opened walls to bring in natural light to the break room and a newfound lounge. Many existing furnishings were reupholstered since they were in good condition and for cost savings. Multiple meeting room styles were needed, so we incorporated a movable partition wall that doubled as a magnetic marker board on both sides giving the options for 4 person, 8 person, and 12 person conference rooms. The challenges of the low ceilings of the warehouse were met with an urban, functional feel. Each of the meeting rooms was designed for the ability for video conferencing, multiple data and changing port options, as well as a hospitality area for beverages and convenience amenities on floating storage cabinets. Our design team worked with the mall engineers and contractors throughout the project. Our building forensic team assessed window and roof leaks and presented long-term remedy recommendations during the project as well.
